I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was a great, brief, look at gendered and ungendered fashion and garments throughout history. I found the way it was divided up into sections based on different aspects inside and outside of the binary to be easy to follow.
There were times though where I wished we got photos of some of the fashions being discussed, given that not every entry had accompanying photos. I also wished some entries were a bit longer, most parts of each chapter are only one page or one spread of pages, and some of them would’ve benefited from more information being included.
Overall, it was a great surface-level look at how gender and gendered expectations have shaped clothing throughout history.
