Review: The Love Haters by Katherine Center (Release 5/20/2025)
George Bailey and Rue are the highlights of this book and bring much-needed humor and lightness to the story. Rue and her Gals felt vibrantly real, and I loved the depiction of female friendship through them.

Review: The Corruption of Hollis Brown by K. Ancrum (Release 04/22/2025)
This book is full of such tenderness and I’m so glad that teens will have it. This is a story about community, and how survival depends on having a community around you.

Review: Boys With Sharp Teeth by Jenni Howell (Release 04/08/2025)
I wish I had gone in blind on anything beyond the title with this one. This group of friends are obsessive and twisted, even before adding the paranormal elements towards the end.

Review: Prince of the Palisades by Julian Winters (Release 08/20/2024)
Overall this was a really sweet love story with a love interest after my own film-nerd heart, while also navigating how we all negotiate with the intersections of our identities and choose how we want to be seen existing in the world.

Review: The Book of Elsewhere by Keanu Reeves and China Miéville (Release: 07/23/2024)
The Book of Elsewhere is a somewhat mind-bending book. I happily let myself simply be pulled along by the story, since it’s a complex non-linear path from beginning to end.

Review: Tangled Up In You by Christina Lauren (Release 06/25/2024)
The adaptation of Tangled is fun and enjoyable. I love the mix of Ren’s brilliant mind and her complete inexperience in the real world.

Review: A Happier Life by Kristy Woodson Harvey (Release 06/25/2024)
I didn’t want to put this book down. The story has a mystery, love stories, work drama and family drama. What more can you ask for in one book?

Review: Icon and Inferno by Marie Lu (Release 06/11/2024)
Icon and Inferno tries to be more angsty and emotionally devastating, than it’s predecessor, which is a major shift in a series created to counter the negativity present in the everyday world.

Review: Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan (Release 06/04/2024)
Summer Romance absolutely lives up to its title. This was a delightful, quick, uplifting romance. I appreciated the maturity of these characters and that they had real lives that were allowed to be actual considerations in their romance.

Review: Queer Power Couples by Hannah Murphy Winter (Release 05/07/2024)
This is an absolutely gorgeous and loving portrait of queer couples through both the lenses of the authors, and their own lenses. This book was sweet, and funny, and absolutely captivating.
