I had recently read and enjoyed the first book in this series of poetry collections when I saw this collection was available to request. I was pleased to discover this collection to be just as relevant and hard-hitting as the first. Mateer’s style is so fresh and unique and I absolutely love the mixed media pieces scattered throughout the collection. They punctuate the words she has written absolutely wonderfully without detracting from the power of her words.
