This book was super sweet, and I really enjoyed seeing Jessa and Bird blossom as they got to know each other better. They became each other’s safe harbor in lives that looked very different but carried similar levels of heaviness.
While this book dealt with some very dark and heavy topics, their situations never felt completely hopeless. Jessa and Bird both grew so much over the course of this story, and you couldn’t help but to root for them and their love.
While Jessa took me a bit to warm up to as a narrator, much like how it takes her a bit to start showing Bird anything past her tough facade, I truly fell in love with her as a character, and by the end, she was my favorite of the pair.
