I received an eARC of this novel from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved Mattie and Logan’s story. While I was initially drawn to this book because it was about two actors fake dating, I fell in love with it because of how well Kacen handled both characters’ situations and how real their progression felt. I loved the bits of outside perspectives sprinkled into the book between some of the chapters as well, it really helped build out the world while also giving the reader space to breathe. I was surprised to find myself shedding a few tears at the end, but my reaction just proves the idea mentioned earlier in the novel, that love stories that are fought for are often more emotionally impactful than the ones that are relatively smooth sailing the entire time. Even in the darker parts, this book was an absolute joy to read. If you like Katherine Center’s books where characters suffer but their suffering isn’t the endpoint of their stories, I absolutely recommend you check this book out.
